We surveyed 32 students at the University of Washington to investigate how much UW students are able to explore local businesses in different areas of Seattle.
○ Majority of respondents discover new businesses through social media and friends.
○ Over 71% of survey responses felt a lack of simple and safe transportation as one of the reasons they choose not to leave the university’s area.
○ Difficulties finding new places was a common limitation.
1. Instagram and Facebook Ads are main ways of reaching existing and new customers.
2. Instagram and TikTok are their favorite platforms to share their business on.
1. Include a QR code to allow users to collect points with each purchase to redeem for rewards.
2. Provide a space to set up a profile makes it convenient and helpful in promoting products.
We conducted user testing on our prototype with three users from key stakeholder group and made edits to our design.
